Our hike culminates at a cozy Austrian cabin that feels like a hidden treasure. As you approach, the scent of freshly wood-burning smoke and mulled wine fills the crisp alpine air. At the cabin is an old lady wearing skirt hikes, preparing everything for us. The cabin's warm embrace welcomes you as you enter and sit by a window overlooking the panoramic views of the Austrian countryside. I love those cabins with a fireplace as only form of heating, no electricity, everything is rustic and small. It's magical!

The highlight of our adventure is undoubtedly the breakfast awaiting us. Delight in a delectable spread that includes bread, fragrant cheeses, cured meats and, of course, the finest mulled wine. My taste buds danced with joy as I savor the flavors of this regional breakfast, the perfect birthday breakfast.

Our hike and breakfast was organised by the hotel were we stayed in, in the surroundings of Obermillstatt, so it was one of the easy hikes around, but the area offers dozens of awesome trails of many different levels, also for those hiking with children.
This unforgettable hike adventure left me with cherished memories and a yearning to explore more of the stunning Obermillstatt region. So my wife already told the receptionist of the hotel that we're coming back next year for another hike.
